Jason deCaires Taylor - Underwater Art

Jason deCaires Taylor loves a challenge and creating art underwater can be somewhat of a challenge to any artist. We're sure there are other artists dropping these wonderful pieces but Jason's underwater creations are the first we've encountered...

Nice bit of Kit - AquaSkipper

AquaSkipper is amazing new invention that allows you to jump on the water surface. Yes, this is not a joke you’re able to move along the water surface using this simple device. It is made of hydrofoil wings, fiberglass spring and aluminum frame and “the secret” is that the hydrofoil wings have very little drag in the water. A good feature is that AquaSkipper is easy to assemble and disassemble also it is lightweight and fast: you can reach 17 mph.

Now let’s see how it works: every time you jump the fiberglass spring is pressed by the force of your weight causing the back foil to change its angle. The angled back foil is pushed downward to generate the propulsion from the same impact you did with your jump. The skimmer locks the front foil to a constant height in the water thus allowing it to plane on the water surface.

Street Artist RSH launched his solo show last Friday in a warehouse in Hackney Wick. We visited him a few times while in the process of preparing the building for hanging canvases later. RSH is passionate about his creations and always brings an element of textured colour to the walls of London. This is a great space with a nice ambiance and highly recommend you go see the finished installation. The artist will be there in person from 12noon until 6pm everyday this week...Mention LSD Mag and you'll get a discount on the art ;)
