Acclaimed Mexican street artist Ciler joins London’s Cityzen Kane in a collaborative project at the Brick Lane Gallery from 27 – 30 September 2012.

Distorting Views showcases the work of two exciting street artists working in London and Mexico City.  In addition to their collaboration, the exhibition will also contain selected pieces from both artists, which are usually reserved for the streets of their respective home cities. Ciler, best known for creating arresting imagery that changes familiar shapes and pictures with often unsettling results, is a rising star on the international street art scene. Following Distorting Views, he is set to complete a huge work for the façade of one of Mexico City's most important contemporary art museums, Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil, in November.

Cityzen Kane uses his vivid, otherworldly sculptures to distort the often grey streets of London.  Disrupting the convention that street art is painted on to walls, Kane also uses fabric and glass to create works that play with light and colour.

Charlotte Ashburner from el Jimador, said: “London and Mexico are home to some of the most exciting new street art right now.  With Distorting Views, we wanted to bring two up and coming artists from both cities to one place and give them the opportunity to work together to showcase the best of their respective styles and cities and create a completely new work.“

Distorting Views runs at The Brick Lane Gallery from 27 – 30 September 2012. Open Thurs/Friday 6pm-9pm, Sat/Sun 1pm-6pm
